Privacy policy

Parker and Sons Contracting LLC runs this website to explain what we do and to let people ask us for an estimate. We are a small family contracting business in Marquette, Michigan — not an advertising company. We do not sell your information, and we never have.

What we collect

What you give us

When you fill in the quote form, we get whatever you type into it:

• Your name and phone number, which are required
• Your email address and the job location, if you choose to fill them in
• Which service you need and roughly when
• Whatever you write in the job details box
• Whether you ticked the box saying it's OK to text you

If you call or email instead, we have whatever you tell us and your phone number or email address. Same as any contractor you've ever called.

What gets collected automatically

• Which ad or search sent you. If you arrive from an ad, the campaign details travel in the web address and get attached to your quote request, so we can tell which advertising is worth paying for. This is stored in your browser for the length of your visit and cleared when you close the tab.
• Standard analytics. Pages viewed, roughly where in the world you are, what kind of device you used, and whether you tapped a phone number or sent the form.
• Server logs. Our web host records ordinary request information, including IP addresses, as every web server does.

Why we use it

• To get back to you about the work you asked about
• To quote, schedule and do the job
• To keep normal business records, including for tax and insurance
• To work out which advertising actually produces phone calls, so we are not paying for ads that do nothing

That is the whole list. We do not build profiles, and we do not use what you tell us for anything other than the job you contacted us about.

Who else sees it

We share information only with the companies we need to run the business, and only what they need:

• Formspree, for the quote form. When you press send, the form goes to Formspree, a form-delivery service, which emails it to our office. Formspree keeps a copy for a limited time so a request is not lost if an email goes astray, and does not use it for anything else.
• Our web host, Network Solutions. They run the server the site sits on.
• Google. Google Analytics and Google Ads, for the measurement described below.
• Meta. The Facebook and Instagram advertising pixel, for the same reason.
• Our email provider. Quote requests arrive as email and sit in our business inbox.

We do not sell your information, rent it, trade it, or hand it to anyone who wants to market something else to you. We would give it up if a court ordered us to, and that is the only other circumstance.

Cookies and tracking

Google and Meta set cookies on this site so they can tell whether an ad led to a phone call or a quote request. We also use your browser's session storage to remember which ad brought you here; that is cleared when you close the tab. We do not use any other browser storage.

None of this stops you using the website. Blocking every cookie we set will not prevent you sending a quote request or calling us.

Text messages

We only text you about your request if you ticked the box saying it was OK, or if you texted us first. Reply STOP at any time and we will stop. We do not send marketing blasts, and we do not give your number to anyone who does.

How long we keep it

Quote requests and job records stay in our email and our files as long as we may need them for the work, for warranty questions, and for tax and insurance records — in practice, several years. Analytics data is held by Google under their own retention settings. If you want your details removed sooner, ask and we will do it, except where we are required to keep a record.

How it's protected

The website is served over an encrypted connection, so what you type into the quote form cannot be read in transit. Access to our email and hosting is limited to the people who need it. We are a small business, not a bank, and we will not pretend otherwise — but we do not collect anything that would be worth stealing, because there is no payment or account information here to collect.

Your choices

Email billing@parkerandsonscontracting.com or call (906) 829-0725 and ask us to:

• Tell you what we have about you
• Correct something that is wrong
• Delete your details
• Stop contacting you

You do not need to live in a particular state or quote a law at us. Ask, and we will do it. If you do live somewhere with its own privacy legislation, such as California, you have those rights by statute as well — the request is the same either way.

Children

This site is meant for people hiring a contractor. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you think a child has sent us something, tell us and we will delete it.

Links to other sites

Where we link out — to our Google reviews or a map, for example — that site has its own privacy policy, and this one does not cover it.

Changes

If we change how any of this works, we will update this page and change the date at the top. There is no mailing list to notify, because we do not run one.
