Septic system installation & replacement
New septic systems for new builds, and replacements when an old one gives out — permit to final grade, handled by one crew.
Septic work, start to finish
Nobody thinks about a septic system until it stops working, and then it is urgent. It is also not guesswork. The system has to be sized and sited to what the soil will take, and that is what the permit process checks.
We install complete systems and replace failed ones, and we handle the whole sequence so you're not coordinating three contractors and a health department inspector yourself.
- New systems for new construction
- Replacement of failed or undersized systems
- Tank replacement and drainfield replacement
- Soil evaluation and percolation testing arranged
- County health department permit paperwork
- Excavation, tank set, lines and drainfield
- Backfill, final grade and yard restoration
Signs a septic system is failing
Catching it early is cheaper than catching it late. Call if you're seeing any of these:
- Slow drains throughout the house
- Backups, especially in the lowest drain
- Soggy ground or standing water over the drainfield
- A stripe of unusually green, fast-growing grass
- Smell around the tank or field
- Gurgling in the plumbing
Not every one of these means the whole system is done. Sometimes it's the tank, sometimes it's the field, and sometimes it's a line. We'll figure out which before quoting a replacement.
How a septic job goes
-
Site & soil
The soil, water table and lot layout decide what kind of system is allowed and where it can go. That evaluation happens before any design.
-
Permit
Septic systems are permitted through your county health department. We prepare what's needed and work to the approved design.
-
Install
Excavation, tank set, distribution lines and drainfield, built to the permit and inspected before anything gets covered.
-
Restore
Backfill, final grade and topsoil, so the yard is left in a condition you can seed instead of a mound of fill.
Septic questions
How long does a septic installation take?
The dig and install is usually a matter of days. The longer part is what comes before: soil evaluation, design and the county permit. If you're planning a build, start the septic conversation earlier than you think you need to.
How much does a new septic system cost?
It varies with system type, size and how difficult the site is to work. A straightforward replacement on an open lot and an elevated system on a tight parcel are very different numbers. We quote in writing after we've seen the site and know what the permit requires.
Will my yard be destroyed?
There's no way to install a drainfield without opening ground, but how it's left is a choice. We grade and restore, and we use the mini excavator where access is tight so we aren't driving a full-size machine across your lawn.
Can you work with my builder?
Yes. On new construction we regularly schedule around the builder's sequence so the septic goes in at the right point instead of holding up the job.
